What does an IGPrivateViewer check actually show?
You get the parts of the account a private setting normally hides: the secret direct messages, the watcher list of who keeps checking the profile, the people who quietly unfollowed, and the stories they never shared with you. It is the whole hidden side of one username, set out on a single screen.
Do I need to sign in or install anything?
No. There is no app to download and no account to sign into. IGPrivateViewer runs in the browser you are reading this on. The only thing it asks for is the target username, never yours and never a password.
Will they know that I looked?
Nothing lands on their end. You do not send a follow request, you do not leave a story view, and no alert reaches the account. The lookup happens on your side of the screen, so the profile owner sees no sign of it.
Why not just follow the account?
Following a private account puts your name in their request list, and they decide whether to let you in. Even after they accept, you only ever see what they choose to post. Here is the difference in plain terms:
| Following them | IGPrivateViewer | |
|---|---|---|
| Your name shows | In their follow request | Nowhere |
| They decide access | They must accept you | No approval asked |
| What you see | Only what they post | The hidden side too |
What if the account is private or has blocked me?
That is exactly the case this is built for. The lookup works off the username alone, so a locked profile or one that has blocked your own account makes no difference to it. You type the handle, and the hidden side comes back the same.
Just one username is all it takes.
Drop in the handle and read the account's hidden side on the next page.
